Once Upon A TIme, I Was A Democrat

First and foremost, I am black and I am a woman.  And, once upon a time I was a democrat.  I think it is safe to say most black Americans are Democrats, but why?  Well, because the Republican party is known to be exclusive and at times racist (yeah, I said it).  A most recent example of this could be seen during the 2008 Presidential election.  McCain & Palin brought out the worst racists when they held their town hall meetings. They allowed people in their town hall meetings to call now President Obama racial terms without addressing them.

Needless to say, I voted for Obama and will be voting for him in 2012.  But I do not consider myself a Democrat anymore.  When I was young, a family friend told me the difference between a democrat and a republican was democrats want the government to help its people and republicans want people to be able to help themselves without the assistance of the government.  Right then and there I decided to be a Democrat.  Why wouldn't I want the government to help me?  I thought that was the purpose of our government, to help it's people.

Oh, how the times have changed.  Now that I am a small business owner and entrepreneur, I don't want the government helping with anything but a tax cut!  I HATE welfare programs and I think the government should stop giving my hard earned money to folks that continue to have babies without a high school diploma, a GED or a job. YEAH, I SAID IT.  I want a politician to work on WELFARE REFORM and leave gun control alone.  Hell, in the neighbor I live in, I need a damn gun.  Which leads me to GENTRIFICATION...IT'S A GOOD THING!  It's not about color, it's about money.

So, I think you can get the gist of this blog.  I am trying to start a movement.  This movement is directed towards all people who want to be better, do better and live better.  People who want to get off the government's teet.  People who want to make a way out of no way but need direction as to how.

If you want to start a business, I can help you.  If you want to get out of debt, Dave Ramsey can help you *lol* (I'm enrolled in his Financial Peace University right now-amazing).  Sometime I am going to piss you off, but I will always make you think.  If you are still interested in changing your life and becoming self-reliant then follow me and join the movement.
